 "The Wild Rumpus"

This summer I attended the opening of Patrick Dougherty's STICKWORK at Tower Hill Botanic Gardens in Boylston, Ma. I had never had the pleasure of going to Tower Hill, and I was in awe of the beauty it's gardens! Patrick Dougherty, the internationally acclaimed sculptor was there with his adult son Sam, who assisted in creating this nest-like sculpture called "The Wild Rumpus". That day, I also met a few of the many local volunteers who helped create this work! Dougherty told us that it takes roughly 3 weeks to create a sculpture this size, and it will last a good 2 years out in the elements. I recommend you go see it for yourself, and when you do, you can view a short movie of this sculpture being created!
