About Me

I'm an elementary art teacher who loves being in the midst of my student's creative efforts. Teaching is most fun when all my students are engaged in the creative process in the supportive environment we create for ourselves in the art room. I'm also an artist, with a studio off-site, but I don't sell my work partly because I don't have enough time to devote to my craft. I paint in the summer and once in a while during the year when I'm caught up with my teaching obligations. My students occupy my mind most of the time - whether I'm looking for better ways to present ideas to their multiple learning styles, or improving the depth of possible responses to a lesson. This feels like play and I wouldn't trade in my job for any other... aside from becoming a full-time artist when I'm ready to retire!

I've included some of my own work in this blog to show my students that I too love to create! Contrary to what some young ones think... I do not live at school and i do have a life of my own! Ha!
